Webpage Design Evaluation

As part of the communication plan, I conducted a critical analysis of Ray’s existing website to evaluate its usability, structure, and alignment with his author brand.

Current Weakness

The review identified several issues, including unclear navigation labels, lack of visual appeal, and limited interactive features, which likely reduced user engagement and conversion.

Generic visual style with no clear fantasy/horror branding (e.g. inconsistent colours, icons, fonts)

Book pages are static and text-heavy, missing visuals or interactive content (e.g. previews, videos, quotes)

Website Redesign

The current website had a long conversion path, weak content hierarchy, and minimal interactivity. Users often got lost or disengaged due to vague navigation and static pages. To address these issues, I first mapped the existing sitemap and identified major pain points such as unclear labels and lack of visual structure. Then, I developed a wireframe redesign focused on improving layout, adding interactive elements (like videos and sign-up forms), and guiding users toward key actions such as book purchases and newsletter subscriptions. The updated structure aims to enhance usability and support better audience engagement.
